Steam Traction Engines

This
18 horsepower Advance was built by in Battle Creek, MI, in 1917. Restored by Jim
Johnson, of Dane, it is shown by Eric & John Johnson of Dane & West Salem, WI.
Jack
and John Raemisch, of Dane, WI, own this Advance – Rumely traction engine, built
in 1918 and rated at 22 drawbar horsepower and 75 belt horsepower.

John

traction engine that he and his father own.

Chuck
Sindelar, of Waukesha, WI, is the owned of this 9 horsepower Case traction
engine, built in Racine, WI, in 1907. At the time it was built, it was the
smallest engine in the Case line-up and it is the smallest one remaining in
Wisconsin.

This
80 horsepower Case traction engine was built in Racine, WI in 1918. Owner Mike
Spahn, of Waunakee, WI, has done extensive restoration work to this engine and
this was its first year at our show. We are glad to have it and hope to see it
here for many years to come!

Undoubtedly
the oldest traction engine at our show, this 12 horsepower engine was built in
LaPorte, Indiana by Meinrad Rumely & Co., in 1884. It is owned by Jack and John
Raemisch, of Dane, WI.

Owned
by the Brethorst Family, this 1918 Port Huron features a compound engine, known
as a “Longfellow”. It was built by the Port Huron Engine & Thresher Co., of Port
Huron, MI and is rated at 19 horsepower on the drawbar and 65 horsepower on the
belt.
